According to Golf Magazine’s annual state-by-state rating of Golf Courses You Can Play, 5 of Lake Oconee’s courses are in the top 15 selected from the state of Georgia.
Many people visit the Lake Oconee area, or buy a home here to enjoy great golfing year-round. Within a 30 mile radius there are 14 golf courses including state parks and private clubs that allow outside play. Fees range from $15 on small town semi-private courses, to $260 for some private gated community courses. There is course that suits everyone’s type of game. Local courses have previously received recognition in golf magazines, so this year’s ranking is not a first.
