We have compiled a partial list of events planned for Lake Oconee visitors and residents to enjoy during the Holiday Season. If you are considering buying property in the Lake Oconee area, this list may give you an idea of all the activities that are available here, in addition to those that are available only an hour away in Atlanta. Links are included to get more information about each event.
December 2. Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Annual Holiday Concert, 8 PM Madison-Morgan Cultural Center.Tickets
December 3-5. Madison’s Annual Christmas Tour of Homes. Daytime and Candlelight Tickets
December 4. Lighting of the Tree, Greensboro, 6-8 PM. Includes entertainment, Santa Claus, a hayride, and marshmallow toasting. Free
December 5. Christmas in Union Point. Elves market and Festival of Trees starting at 10 AM, Parade at 3 PM, Tree lighting at 6 PM.
December 5. Crooked Pines Farm’s Holiday Celebration. 10 AM to 4 PM. The Farm’s Old Fashioned Christmas Tree Lot allows visitors to meander through the trees and pick out their favorite one while also visiting with Santa from 1 PM. to 4 PM in the country store. Special family friendly activities are available. Details
December 5 . Christmas in the Briar Patch from 3 to 8 PM Eatonton. Bring the family to enjoy Christmas arts and crafts bazaar, pictures with Santa, gingerbread house display and contest, and Lighted Holiday Parade starting at 6 PM.! Details
December 6 Christmas on the Avenue, Eatonton. 4-6 PM Come enjoy this annual holiday performance by the church choirs of Eatonton’s North Madison Avenue. It’s free but you must have a ticket. Please call or visit The Plaza Arts Center to reserve your seat, 706-923-1655
December 10. Holiday Spectacular sponsored by OPAS. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with Broadway star Doug
LaBrecque. 7:30 PM at Festival Hall. Tickets
December 13 Crooked Pines Farm’s Santa and Sweets Event will be from 1-4 PM. This will include opportunities to decorate cookies and have one-on-one time with Santa. Pictures with Santa will be taken and a flash drive will be made for parents to take home. This event is $20 for the first child, $15 for each additional child and is by reservation only. Cut Your Own Christmas Tree
Lake Oconee even has wonderful local farms to cut your own Christmas Tree. It is a lot of fun to take the children to choose and to cut your own tree to decorate!
